Delivering more than steel
Talkha combined cycle power plant

This 750 mega watt combined cycle power plant is located in the city of Mansura, Egypt. The facility includes a power block consisting of two 250 mega watt combustion turbine generators, each feeding exhaust gases to its respective heat recovery steam generator (HRSG). Steam from the two HRSGs is fed into one 250 mega watt reheater condensing steam turbine generator.

Our work included design, supply, prefabrication and erection of tanks with internal diameters reaching 30.4 meters. We also supplied, fabricated and installed two exhaust systems and the complete combustion turbine area.

Approximate quantity

2,100 tons (including two exhaust systems and five steel tanks).

Scope of work

  • Preparations of engineering designs and shop drawings for tanks and exhaust systems as per specifications and data sheets.
  • Supply of carbon steel and stainless steel for tanks as per requirements.
  • Supply of carbon steel materials for plates and sections.
  • Hot dipped galvanized steel structure for ladders, handrails and gratings for platforms.
  • Pre-fabrication of tanks, including, cutting, beveling and rolling and prefabrication of exhaust system at NSF for site assembly.
  • Sandblasting to SA21/2 externally and internally for all carbon steel tanks.
  • Supply and application of complete painting system for carbon steel tanks and exhaust system as per specifications.
  • Fabrication of silincer spliter.
  • Non Destructive Test (NDT) requirements
  • Erection of tanks and exhaust systems at site.

Time of completion

11 months for the 3 stages of the project.
